What We Do
Vision
The health education profession will be strengthened, protected, supported (unconditionally) and enhanced, through a diverse membership who will clarify the role of the health educator to consumers and other health professionals.
Mission
To support of the profession of Health Education and Health Promotion, and:
a) to, generally, provide our members with the benefit of one unified voice in order to effectively communicate the roles and responsibilities of the health educator to consumers and other professionals;
b) to provide support services, and deal with issues affecting the profession- No agenda/concern will be swept under the table.
c) to enhance the profession, via professional comprehensive marketing, and/or social marketing efforts, to include, but not limited to, radio, television, print media advertisements. All marketing efforts will be based on a sound comprehensive marketing plan.
d) to enhance the profession via membership services, including, but not limited to an annual convention featuring innovative programs on research and health education practice. .
e) to provide legislative alert services to all members;
f) to provide useful practitioner and research publications to members in print and electronic format (e-zine, pocket size CD- ROM- 180+MB, etc.).
g) to provide electronic and other media communication services.
h) to enhance credentialing via the support of NCHED, including, but not limited to, promoting the establishment of multilevel credentialing, and promoting the establishment of state licensure.
